Who can apply for a directsaver?
- Either Single or joint customers may apply
- You must be an Australian resident with an Australian address or a Non Resident with a nominated account domiciled in Australia
- Personal customer (ie not Business)
- For applicants under the age of 13, please ensure that their parent or legal guardian also completes the "directsaver account additional signatories nomination form".
Application Checklist
Your will need to allow approximately 10 minutes to complete this application.
- I have a printer that will able to print the directsaver verification form required to complete this application.
- I have read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions which apply to the directsaver account
- I have the BSB and Account number of the Australian Bank account I wish to link to my directsaver.
- I have my Tax File Number (If you elect not to provide your TFN St.George is required to collect withholding tax on the interest you earn on your directsaver)
Next Steps after submitting application
- Write down the application reference number we provide you at the end of the application and in the confirmation email you will receive. (Provided a valid email address was entered)
- Your account is now open. You may start depositing and earn interest on every dollar.
- Sign, fax or mail back to address provided your printed Verification Form
- If this is a child’s directsaver also please fill out the directsaver additional signatures nomination form
What to expect from us once we receive your application
- Once we receive your Completed Verification form we link your directsaver account to your (Nominated) account to facilitate transfers.
- A welcome pack in the mail, confirming your account details and providing further information on your directsaver.
- Your Internet and Phone Banking registration details and the steps how to log in and use our Internet and Phone Banking services.

Please note, If you do not have your TFN or exemption details with you, you are still able to complete the application and provide the TFN details at a later time, simply by calling the number below.
If you don’t have a printer or any of the information you need, please phone our customer contact centre on 1300 30 10 20 8am-9pm (AEST) 7days a week and one of our consultants will be able to assist you further.
